3. How We Use Your Information

- Fulfilling orders received from connected sales channels via our API, and returning fulfilment and tracking updates to those channels
4. Legal Basis for Processing

6. Integrations and connected sales channels (API)
Print Trail can be connected to third-party sales channels, for example a WooCommerce or Shopify store, through our API (api.printtrail.com) and integrations such as the Print Trail for WooCommerce plugin. When a merchant connects a channel, order data is transmitted to us through the API so that we can produce, fulfil and ship the relevant orders.
Data received through a connected channel may include:
- The end customer's name, shipping address and contact details (email and/or phone)
- The products, quantities and SKUs ordered, and order references
- Delivery and shipping-method information
Our role. For orders received through a connected sales channel, the merchant operating that channel is the data controller and Print Trail acts as a data processor. We process this personal data solely to fulfil the merchant's orders on their instructions, producing and dispatching the items and returning fulfilment and tracking status to the channel (including by webhook), and not for our own marketing. A data processing agreement is available to merchants on request.
Integration credentials are transmitted over encrypted connections, and the API never returns API tokens or webhook secrets. See our documentation for how integrations work.
7. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK, including the United States and EU countries where our printing and fulfilment partners operate.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Regular security assessments and updates
- Access controls and authentication measures
- Employee training on data protection
- Secure data storage and backup procedures
